Chiaja Hotel de Charme is located on the first noble floor of a beautiful 18th-century aristocratic building at Via Chiaia 216, a lively pedestrian street, just a short walk from Piazza del Plebiscito, the San Carlo Theatre, and Piazza San Ferdinando (now Piazza Trieste e Trento), in the heart of Naples.
The hotel is composed of two historic apartments that occupy the entire floor.
"Antica Casa Lecaldano Sasso la Terza" is the result of the restoration of the historic residence once inhabited by Marquis Nicola Lecaldano Sasso la Terza at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The restoration, overseen by his great-grandchildren, also involved the preservation of furniture and objects that once belonged to the Marquis and his descendants. The outcome is a welcoming and elegant space, full of atmosphere and charm, far exceeding the official category it holds. The owners chose to maintain the 3-star classification to emphasize the concept of "home". The Superior rooms, each featuring a hydromassage bath and overlooking the colorful Via Chiaia, are named after individuals who once lived in them: ‘a stanza ‘e zì Checchina, ‘a stanza ‘e zì Idarella, ‘a stanza ‘e zì Assuntarella, ‘a stanza ‘e don Nicola, and ‘a stanza do Maestro.
The historic "Casino di Salita S.Anna di Palazzo 3," known as "il 3" or "la Suprema", which closed in 1958 following the Merlin Law, was later incorporated into the property. It had its own independent entrance from the adjacent alley. From its restoration, 11 additional rooms were created, reviving the bohemian atmosphere with brocade curtains and D'Annunzian wallpaper. Here, one can stay in rooms named after figures who once worked in the casino: Anastasia ‘a Friulana, Mimì do Vesuvio, Nanninnela ‘a Spagnola, Titina ‘a Frangese, and Dorina da Sorrento, who once practiced "the world's oldest profession".
